Margot is a highly skilled actor, intimacy professional, director, devisor and educator trained at the University of Melbourne (VCA). Originally from Gadigal country (Sydney), she now resides in Naarm (Melbourne).

Margot has worked with various renowned theatre companies, including Melbourne Theatre Company, State Theatre Company of South Australia, Arts Centre Melbourne, La Mama, Darlinghurst Theatre, Hothouse, and fortyfive downstairs. She has appeared in guest roles on numerous Australian TV series throughout her 30-year career. 

Margot has directed and/or devised a number of independent theatre, cabaret and theatre in education works. In 2021 she was one of eight Australian recipients of an MEAA-Equity Foundation scholarship to train as an intimacy professional with IDC (USA), and she now works as an intimacy professional in stage, screen and educational contexts.

Margot has had an extensive teaching career, including tenure at the University of Melbourne (VCA) from 2009-2023, where she was the inaugural Head of Music Theatre (2009-2018). Internationally, she has taught for the musical theatre programs at Tisch School of the Arts (NYU) and the University of Michigan.

Margot’s multi-hyphenate roles intersect through her commitment to the evolution of performing arts and a dedication to creating safer and more inclusive workplaces through trauma-informed, consent-forward, and culturally aware approaches. Margot values collaboration and approaches her work with a spirit of openness, generosity, ease, insatiable curiosity and joy.
